Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making health information equitably accessible to all users, including those using assistive technologies.
Our Commitment
SunnyPharma.info is committed to ensuring that our health education content is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. Access to accurate medical information should not be contingent on a user’s ability to use a standard browser interface. We are actively working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Accessibility is treated as a core design requirement, not an afterthought. Our implementation standards are derived from the same reference build that governs all production pages on this site.
Measures Taken to Support Accessibility
SunnyPharma.info has taken the following measures to support accessible use of this website:
- Semantic HTML: All pages use proper heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3), landmark regions (
header, nav, main, footer), and ARIA roles where appropriate - Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements — links, navigation items, and form inputs — are accessible via keyboard
- Focus indicators: Visible focus states are applied to all interactive elements using
border-colorandbox-shadowpatterns - Alt text: All meaningful images carry descriptive
altattributes; decorative images use emptyalt="" - Color contrast: Text and background color combinations throughout the site are selected to meet or exceed the WCAG 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text
- Responsive design: All pages are fully responsive and tested at viewports from 375px (iPhone SE) to 1440px; no content requires horizontal scrolling at standard viewport widths
- Text scaling: Layout is designed to accommodate browser text scaling up to 200% without content overlap or loss of functionality
- Input font sizes: All form inputs use a minimum font-size of 16px to prevent iOS Safari auto-zoom
- Link text: All links use descriptive text that identifies the destination — not “click here” or “read more”
- Language declaration: The
lang="en"attribute is set on the HTML element of every page to assist screen readers with correct pronunciation - Table accessibility: Data tables use
<th>headers and are wrapped in horizontally scrollable containers to prevent overflow on narrow viewports
Known Limitations
While we aim for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, we acknowledge the following known limitations as of the date of this statement:
- Some legacy PDF documents linked from our pages may not fully conform to PDF accessibility standards. We are working to remediate these.
- Third-party embedded content (such as Google Fonts delivery scripts) may introduce minor accessibility variations outside our direct control.
- Complex data tables on some pages may benefit from additional ARIA labeling — this is under ongoing review.
We conduct accessibility reviews whenever new page templates are introduced and when significant content updates are made. This statement is reviewed at minimum annually.
