Dr. Ranjit Mohan
“The best outcomes in infectious disease come not from the newest drug, but from the physician who understands the patient, the pathogen, and the evidence equally well.”
Rigorous Clinical Training. Global Infectious Disease Expertise.
Dr. Ranjit Mohan is a highly respected Consultant in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Manipal Hospitals, Old Airport Road, Bangalore — one of India’s premier tertiary-care institutions. With over a decade of clinical practice, he has built a distinguished reputation as a specialist in complex infectious disease presentations, including HIV, fungal infections, systemic viral infections, tropical diseases, and sepsis management. He brings this same rigorous clinical depth to his role as Medical Reviewer for Sunny Pharma®.
Dr. Mohan’s academic journey spans four prestigious institutions across three countries. He completed his MBBS at Kasturba Medical College in Manipal — widely regarded as one of India’s leading medical schools — before pursuing his MD in General Medicine at M. S. Ramaiah Medical College in Bengaluru. He further specialized with a Postgraduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine (PGDGM) from IGNOU, New Delhi, and earned his Master of Medicine in Infection and Immunity from Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney, Australia — an internationally prestigious program that sharpened his expertise in modern infectious disease pathophysiology and clinical immunology.
Prior to his current consultancy role at Manipal Hospitals, Dr. Mohan served as Assistant Professor of General Medicine at M. S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru, where he taught and mentored undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. He was also actively involved in the theory and clinical teaching of the Diploma in Geriatric Medicine postgraduate program in Karnataka, contributing to national and international medical journals throughout this period. His academic work has been recognized through several professional accolades and committee appointments.
As a medical reviewer for Sunny Pharma®, Dr. Mohan provides expert clinical oversight on all content related to HIV antiretroviral therapy, generic HIV medication, and infectious disease treatment guides — precisely the areas where his daily clinical practice intersects with Sunny Pharma’s mission to help patients access affordable, evidence-based medications. He brings fluency in five languages — English, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil — enabling him to connect with patients across India and the broader South Asian diaspora.
The best outcomes in infectious disease come not from the newest drug, but from the physician who understands the patient, the pathogen, and the evidence equally well. I bring that standard to every review I conduct.
